Keeping and propagation of Tubastrea corals

When I started marine aquaristics 7 years ago with a small 20l nano reef, I would never have dreamed of keeping such rare beauties in the long term. Minimal technology is my principle. A small Eheim skimmer, Eheim Aquaball internal filter with Rowaphos, Tunze nanoturbelle, Jäger regulator heater and a 24 watt Tropic Marin Led lamp are all I need.

And suddenly a yellow doctor costs between 200 and 600 euros. You can see why in the video. In addition, there is the quite frequent observation that some yellow doctors also eat spherical algae. At least when they copy it :-)

Magazine: Onchidium -Snails as border crossers

... and this in several senses. At first I thought the animals were marine nudibranchs and listed them as such in my photo file under the hind gills. However, for a long time I did not succeed in determining the species or even the genus. But I was also always looking in the wrong place. Only a tip from a leading expert on marine nudibranchs made me look for other groups of snails and finally I found it - Onchidium verruculatum. The species is widespread in the Indo-Pacific.
